Founded in 2019, The Goldilox Fund is a privately held algorithmic trading fund that automates the analysis of securities. What started out as a rudimentary experiment with a bit of code and a single brokerage account has evolved into a very lucrative prop fund that develops its own state-of-the-art artificial intelligence API called Goldilox.
The parable of Goldilocks and the Three Bears is the earliest tale of optimization and, fundamentally, all machine learning algorithms are attempting to solve an optimization problem. Trading securities is also, fundamentally, an optimization problem, hence the name of the Fund's AI. Goldilox uses a suite of cloud-based machine learning algorithms called Goldilox Ethos to track real-time information over the news and social media in order to inform smarter stock trades. Ethos employs the state-of-the-art in AI and currently tracks over 30 news and social media sites in order to refine its strategies.
The Fund is broken out into multiple "sub-funds", which effectively allows Goldilox to try multiple strategies over smaller pots of money to prove their validity before merging to the "master" fund. Goldilox trades both securities and cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrencies can be traded around the clock. However, the trading of securities is obviously restricted to certain hours of the day. Goldilox's cloud (called Goldilox Dream) is programmed to be always on, so while the investor sleeps, Goldilox scrapes for new information, saves new data, retrains its own models, and uncovers overlooked patterns in preparation for the following trading day. Throughout the day, Goldilox generates reports to the investor summarizing its performance and noting reasons behind any changes in its strategy. Human intervention is only allowed as a means of quality control
Since the Fund owns all of its technology, it is able to maintain tighter control over its machine learning capabilities, data, and investments. The Goldilox Fund is tokenized by its own cryptocurrency called LOX, which represents shares of the Fund and therefore equity in the company. The value of LOX increases with the value of the Fund which correspondingly increases the value of the AI. All LOX are fully owned by a small circle of private investors and are closely controlled. The Goldilox AI platform is currently not available for license but may be in the future.
To date, 4 out of 5 Goldilox sub-funds have outperformed the NASDAQ, Dow Jones Industrial Average, and the S&P 500.
